Creative X-Fi playback keeps reverting

My Creative X-Fi playback keeps reverting to SPDIF from the normal playback via "Speakers"

This recently just started happening... after I installed a PCI SATA add-on card. ... 2nd time but in-frequently so there are no signs other than the card to pin things down. I have to re-install the drivers to get 'speaker' functionality back...

Anyone?

I have been having the same exact issue off and on with my X-fi Elite pro for a while now, ever since I updated to the latest creative drivers. It has not dont it in a while now, so I have not tried reverting to the previous drivers, but you aren't the only one seeing that problem for sure.

When it did it the last few times I noticed that I could just remove it from the device manager, and check for hardware changes and it would come back after re-installing itself, and the speaker option would be working again. I just had to go back in there to set it to 5.1 rather than stereo, but it would work again after that. Seems very random when the issue comes up for me though.

Interesting :hmm:

I've been using the .15 drivers for a while now and this just recently started to happen..
