Creative X-Fi Platinum vs Z87 Realtek onboard

Soundblaster probably wins slightly in overall sound quality, but the Realtek 1150 chip on that motherboard is the best that Realtek makes. It drivers are also much better and stable than Creative's.

Tough call but i'd try them both out to see which you prefer.
 
I would say the soundblaster have much better sound quality. And the drivers work well, I never had a problem.

I've been using various soundblaster cards for the past 17 years.
