I am trying to install an PCI-E X-Fi Gamer and it keeps hanging at around 79% where it says "installing drivers". It kept happening so I started poking around, and I find that my C: drive is packed full, and the installer is copying tons of files to a Preinst/t3.ini folder. Random stuff like my AVG virus vault, random music, and other files I have. When I delete the folder, it keeps copying more stuff to it like its in a perpetual craze.

What the...? Why is my driver cd doing this?

hate to laugh but hahaha that's hilarious

you might want to do a virus scan and make sure you're virus free. either it's poorly written drivers or theres some malware screwing with you too

I had the latest drivers, but my father suggested it was because I was installing from an .iso and for some reason the driver package was lazy and had some code like "copy everything from the root drive (as in the cd drive) to this folder". It"s odd but ive never had an iso install do that must just be lazy drivers
