Creative SB128 prob w/skipping and 4 speaker output

I've got a Creative SB128 PCI... its about 2 years old. Since I got it... it often skips when I open a new window or something when playing mp3s, using Winamp, Napster, or Media Player. Opening a new window of IE or something shouldn't use THAT much CPU overhead that it skips! I've used the System Monitor and it doesn't even go near 100% utilization, so why the hell is it skipping??

Also for the 4 speaker output... I had it working before, but since I've reformatted I haven't been able to get it working again. I set it to Quadraphonic speakers, and I'm trying to get it to work with an Altec Lansing 5pce, but its not working!

This card is really starting to piss me off :disgust:

That's a common problem and it usually has to do with memory management/usage in your OS. One of the only ways I've ever been able to fix that problem is to reinstall the operating system. I don't know if it's caused by a cluttered registry or not, but it seems the computers that have a lot of internet or shareware software tend to get it more than others.

I'm 90% sure it did it as well when I had a fresh OS as well!
