Creative PlayCenter ...hardware initialization

I keep wondering why Creative PlayCenter takes so long to initialize the card everytime I run it. I think it probably takes at least 30 seconds. I thought the card has been initialized during bootup? It is very irritating to wait for PlayCenter to load up.
Anybody has the same situation? Any idea what is it doing?
 
i dont know, creative playcenter is buggy for me. im running it on 2k. actually all of the creative stuff has been giving me problems. very annoying
 
It takes forever to load on my 1Ghz machine also. Sometimes it locks my whole system. I used to have all these random crashes on my machine when I was using PlayCenter. Since I started using WinAmp for everything my machine has not crashed once, I didn't even uninstall Play Center, I just haven't opened it. WinAmp opens immediately and plays everything. Screw Creative Labs's buggy software.
 
I got a Encore 12X DVD today and installed it. Went to run CDSpeed99 on it and the minute I put the test CD in the drive PlayCenter 2 arises from the dead....has a fatal exception error...won't shut down....forces me to just turn off my machine. I then UNINSTALL it using the windows uninstaller....reboot....it arises from the dead again!! ARGH!!! Finally i just deleted it's directory from my HD...no more problems.

Fsck Creative Labs's software engineers!!
 
Playcenter sucks! I've got it w/ Live! Plat. 5.1. It never works right and takes forever to start up. Unfortunately, if I don't use it, then I can't use the remote to control mp3 playback since I haven't had time to go find some hack to make Winamp fully operable via the remote. Creative always seems to have crappy software, at least the stuff they brand as their own.
 
NutBucket, how do you get the live drive to work? i want to use the remote feature as well but dont know how to set it up
