1) Why is the new USB 2.0 version cheaper than the previous regular USB+Firewire version
2) Can you use the new USB 2.0 version with a computer with the old/regular USB?
 
1. Because firewire + usb 1.1 you're paying extra for transfer options
2. USB 2.0 can be used with usb 1.1 w/o the speed
