My mom just purchased one of these (1gb version) and had problems with it so I agreed to look at it for her.
From what I can tell it's hosed, but just looking for an opinion or if anyone has seen this problem before.
The drive won't write at all. It can be used like a USB2 disk, so drag and drop is supposed to work. With the Creative software or drag n' drop, it won't write any files. She got 3 or so on there and it won't even delete the ones on there. Half the time it displays the files on the drive as 0kb when they're about 5mb mp3's.
I've also tried to flash the firmware. When I try to, it gets to "writing boot section" and I get the error "semaphore timeout period expired".
Any ideas before I RMA?
