I was just wondering what the actual differences are between these two sound cards. From what i gather the only differences are the software bundles and that front mounting thingy. Is this correct? If so is any of the extra software with the Platinum really worth the extra money, because i really dont care for that front mounting thing all that much. Thanks,
Andy

The retail X-Gamer 5.1, MP3+ 5.1, and Platinum 5.1 cards use identical cards. The differences between the models just lie in the software and accessory bundles.

The Platinum basically comes with all of the software from the MP3+ and X-Gamer combined, plus more. In addition, you get the Live!Drive IR front panel I/O unit. Unless you can really use that I/O panel, it's pointless to buy a Platinum.
