By the % off it looks like it should be good, but the price is about the same as on pricewatch. Probably good use if you need one of these and have Amazon gc like everyone does though.

I'm confused about which camera is offered. The Webcam 3 only lists for abotu $50. The webcam 3 Go lists for $120. But it should say about the detachable camera part. Oh well. I have 2 Webcam 3s and I love them. I don't think I paid more than $30 for either one and considering my girlfriend was even able to install it on her computer means the manual is decent enough. As for reviews, people either love them or hate them. IMO I think they are the best camera for under $80. The 3com and high end Intel blows it out of the water but I don't think you can buy either one for under $100. It also runs really well in natural light. It gets a reddish tint to it if the light gets dim. Keep that in mind.

This camera isn't that good. If you want a real webcam, go with intel.

You can get this creative labs cam at onvia.com for $44 with free shipping.

SPend the extra bucks and get the 3Com Home Connect. It just can't be beat. Bright sunlight or dim candlelight, it rocks!

I'd have a agree with wxman.. I have a 3com and it out-performs any other one that I've seen.. that includes Intel and Creative cameras.

The HomeConnect is certainly excellent. The Intel Create&Share (the white one, not the blue&white one) is also a safe bet. The one thing I would like to caution about: these two cameras support WDM and W2K. They will be of use and of value a year from now. If you purchase a camera that doesn't at least support WDM, you are throwing money away.

Something in the back of my head sez Creative still doesn't support WDM...I could be wrong...

The WDM driver works better than the VFW driver for the Creative cam. While the 3com is a better camera, I am totally happy with my creative one. You get what you pay for but in this case I think I got more. For a 1/3 the cost of the 3com, this does fairly well against it. Just spend an extra 30 minutes setting up good lighting and most of the issues of visual quality go away.
