Greetings,

Salutations to the FAQ writers, I got Win ME and XP dual booting thanks to you guys:).

My confusion is XP seems to work fine with the drivers it came with and the windows updates I have downloaded. I have the older SB Live card and want to know to get the most out of it do i need to use the software installation CD or if I can hear sound which I can just forget doing that. I also downloaded the updates from Creative per a previous topic by Andy but have not installed as I dont know if i need too.

My other question is the same but applies to the video card Annihilator 2 the video is working ok, but again do I need to use the installation CD to get the most out of the card.

To sum it up in a nutshell, to get the most out of these products for functionality do I need to load the software that came with them or just forget it as it is way before XP?

Thanks to anyhelp or advice you can give. I have written to Creative but as of yet heard nothing.

I tried loading castle wolfenstein and got the error that open gl could not be done. I am not sure if this helps in my question.

Any assistance or direction would be great

1. For the SBLive, simply download the Windows XP driver update package. These are standalone drivers and do not require previous software. The driver update package includes AudioHQ, Surround Mixer and the drivers.

2. Forget about the Creative Drivers for the Annihilator. Just grab the latest reference drivers directly from nVidia.
