the days of seperate 3d graphics controllers are gobe for good (i hope), so to answer your question...No, you don't need to buy another graphics card. CLA 2 will do just fine in both 2d and 3d.
 
HigherGround is right. if you don't need really high quality of 2d, CLAP2 will just give you very satisfactory performance. however, if you want the best out of the best, Matrox G400 has the best 2d (i don't think their 3d is that impressive though)
