Creative Labs 12X Encore DVD Kit....Any Good??

I'm looking for a DVD Player and I can get the Creative Labs 12x Encore DVD Kit for $100 (don't ask because it's a one time deal thru a friend). Is this drive any good? Is the card any good? I just built a 1Ghz T-Bird and really don't need the card but I want one for the S-Video TV out.

I don't know who makes the components in this kit but I am sure someone here will.

Not a bad deal since the DXR3 is a Hollywood+ in desguise. Creative Labs typically rebadges their drives, and I am not sure who makes that particular 12x DVDROM.

I have one
works pretty good too.

only problem I have is I can not get the Beta Windows 2000 drivers to work.
I think Im going to try the Hollywood Plus drivers since the DXR3 and the Hollywood are basically the same card.

It's nice to know the card is a Hollywood+. If anyone knows who makes the drive I would appreciate the info. BTW what kind of software comes with this kit?
