Thread about MP3 player volume too high reminded me of something.

My Zen Xtra always resets the volume to 17 and I want it at 22 for use in the car. Why does it reset? anyone else have one that does this?

Hmm, not sure. Can you reset all of the preferences to default?

i think so and i think i did that once but it seems to default back to 17. what else is weird is that it seems to happen if i don't use it for a certain amount of time. like if i use monday evening and don't use it again until tuesday evening, it resets.

When you turn it off it just goes to standy by, but after so many hours it goes truly off, and all your settings are lost.

There is a way to change that, people have hacked the firmware to make it save the settings. There are few websites and forums dedicated to that mp3 player, im sure you can find it on google.

i don't think it did it before though...
maybe i just don't remember.
