Creative Introduces Creative Zen Vision:M

That is one chunky piece. The photography is a little misleading IMO - this thing is so large (particularly in thickness, and presumably weight) that it seems impractical to me.

I guess I don't really get the appeal of video iPods/Zens anyway - who would want to watch a program on such a tiny screen?

Well, it has double the video battery life of the iPod w/video. I'll take the thicker dimensions.

Really, besides the so called "Wow" factor what good are they? Can't you just wait to get home to watch movies or TV programs?

Again, do people seriously sit and watch videos on these things? The video seems like a throwaway feature that I'd try once and never mess with again. If I'm in a situation to sit and watch a program on my iPod (say, a plane trip), I more than likely have my laptop on me, which actually has a useful, high-resolution screen. In any event, I'm not going to sit and watch Top Gear or anything else on a 2.5" screen.

Will it allow easy transfer of tivo recordings? The ability to do this with the Ipod is supposed to be coming soon to tivo I believe.

It would come in handy for some people...I ride the train about 90 minutes a day total, what else is there to do besides sleep or read? You can also watch video on the thing while you jog or walk.

I might be getting a video iPod in about 6 months, just waiting for more software and programming to come out before I invest.

I have a cowon x5l. i was watching tv shows on it until i remembed my pocketpc has video as well...bigger/crisper screen, no transcoding required...and i use it on my 1hr+ train ride every morning.

Yeah, the xvid and divx playback (along with other formats) are really going to help it sell...but the thickness is why I wouldn't be interested. Ah well, to each his own.

Isnt it the same size as the previous Ipod?

That sold pretty good.

Does Ipod?

Hell no. It only plays back QT I think.

I don't know about the rest of QT, but iPods play MPEG4.

Still not an iPod.

Edit: I wonder why it has longer video, but shorter audio playback times.
