I've recently bought a nice shiny Creative GF3 Ti200 for my system, and although the 3DMark scores aren't TOO bad (around 5300) I found real world performance wasn't so good - the bundled ERacer 4-track demo loses frames and stammers at 1024x768, and Comanche 4 turns into a total slideshow during the submarine-destroying mission at 1280x1024 and 1024x768.
So I overclocked the card to 200/460 and ran 3DMark again - 5310 3DMarks! Same performance in the same games too, what can be my bottleneck?
(I know there are updated 4in1 drivers, but will they make THAT much of a difference? And I've heard worrying reports about problems with Detonators and Creative cards, has anyone tested the 23.12s with them yet?)
System:
Asus A7V
Athlon Thunderbird 1.1 MHz (not overclocked)
512MB SDRAM
40Gb 7200rpm Primary HDD
15Gb 5400rpm Secondary HDD
Creative GF3 Ti200 (using creative drivers based on det. 21.85)
Soundblaster Live Platinum
RealMagic Hollywood Plus DVD card
Asus E612 12x DVD-ROM
Toshiba SD-R1002 Combi DVD/CD-R/W drive
Win 98SE
DirectX 8.1
Can anyone help please?
