Hey guys,

I am doing a poetry project for which I need to have 20 poems all about one theme. Some will be written by me, some by others. It needs to be presented in a creative display that matches the theme of all my poems, disaster. Any good ideas for some creative and cool ways to display the poems? The poems don't necessarily need to be completely visable, as the graders will have a paper copy of all the poems. For instance, if you topic was message in a bottle, then you could have all your poems in the bottle. So basically something along those lines... a creative way to present poems about disaster. Any ideas, AT?

Thanks
Dan

are you presenting this hardcopy (ala posterboard or some sh!te) or a powerpoint style presentation? or is the sky the limit?

hard copy...but not posterboard. Everything is 3D....basically the sky is the limit.

edit: for instance...last year, someone with poems about fish brought in a fish tank and put them in there somehow. stuff like that...

Print the poems on some yellowed paper, leave it out in the sun for a week, slightly burn some of the edges. Bind that as a book. For the cover, get some cardboard, go to a fabric store and get a fake leather or vinyl type deal, cover the cardboard, thenmaybe give a burn to a few spots on it.. maybe a good one in the center or something. Leave them out in the road to get run over for a few hours.

In between each poem, give a picture that represents the poem that either was just given or read, but make sure it is a picture of a disaster.

Take some relatively thick wire and make it into a spiral, tornado-like funnel shape, then clip the poems to the wire

Any other ideas? Looks like the wire idea won't work cause Home Depot's closed for the night, and I need it for tomorrow.

Thanks guys

Make your theme procrastination. Don't show up for class. Demand an "A".

LOL @ perknose. Damn, I needed that when I was in school.
Seriously, 12 hours is hardly enough time. You got your fire, don't forget your waterlogged paper (but still*just* legible writing). If you could find some kind of "disaster" container on short notice - Ideally like old first aid kit or something, but a regular modern first aid kit might do in a pinch .. generally the sort of stuff you can find in grandma's basement, rather than your own dorm room.
