creative dvd and cdr-w issues

I'm currently running both a creative dvd player (5x) and a creative cdr-w (8x/4x/32x) on the same ide port. i have the dvd running digital sound to the sound card (SBLive), while the cdr is connected to analog. the only problem is i get no sound when i try and play dvd movies, anyone know what the deal is here? 😕
 
if u have it hooked the crap ass dxr2 decoder card and are playing it thru that, u have to hook the analog from the dvd to the decoder card...or decoder to sound card?...uh....shoot, can't remember..

u'd have to have the rom hooked to something...and u only need one cable...it must be to the decoder card...but then how i sthe sound card receiving the input...bah..

anyway, it's easy, there's two possible ways of hooking it up.
 
BUMP, message got burried fast, still doesnt answer the question, ive tried hooking both analog and digital to the dvd, just digital, and just analog, none worked. Its a Dxr3....
