I've got this card a couple of months back from CompGeeks. It tested OK with what they had on CD, but all DVD's seem to show green screen with barely visible signal. Using PowerDVD there are no problems. Am I doint something wrong here?

It is dependent on your video card. The CT7160 seems to work best with the Geforce cards.

I've gotten it to work with Savage3D, Savage4, Riva128, ATI Rage Pro, Banshee, and Voodoo3 cards.

The Geforce had the best image quality. Even so, PowerDVD provides better image quality on your monitor. I use the CT7160 to playback DVDs on the TV (and to make tape copies) -- for that it is excellent.

Stormrider is right.

Stupid question, but I have to ask - have you connected the decoder card to your video card, using the provided ISA-like cable?

As I mentioned, I played the supplied test files on the install CD fine. It is connected, pin 1 to pin 1, unless it came loose. I have not tried to use it in a while, so it could have happened.
I use ATI Rage Pro Turbo w/ TV out. The drivers are most recent from Creative web site. I do not remember the version. I did not check if the TV out off the 7160 was good, since my TV is off the video card.
Regarding my really old question about regions: I can not play Region 0 DVD's, it complains that it's not the region 1 and will not play them.
I'll try to reinstall the software.
I appreciate any suggestion.
Thanks.

That's a strange problem.

Are you saying it plays that MPEG file on the install CD fine (the one with the guy playing a game and then imagining he is inside the game with the girl?)

But when DVDs are playing it is a green screen?

In the past, when I've had the green screen problem it is with all files and not just DVDs (and it is caused by incompatibility between the graphics card and the CT7160 and/or driver problems)

Me bad. I must have done something after the install (and test Video) and actual playing of DvDs. I killed Creative Play Center and reinstalled the driver (Luxsonor 1.32) And installed just the Luxsonor DVD player. Everything seems to be working now. May be installing new version of DirecX had something to do with it.
Now, in the Lux PC-DVD player you can change region of the card to 0. Does it mean it will play any region, or I should leave this alone?
Yes, indeed the playback seems to be of low quality. I do intend to use TV out. The question is, how do I control the DVD Player in the PC from another room (where the TV is)? I mean I have x10 package w/ the remote, which is working, but I think I need to see computer screen to control. What is that remote feature which gets installed with Lux PC-DVD?
I hope you don't mind me asking all that, I am just starting to play with the card.
THanks for you help.
