Creative CD-RW dying?

My Creative 12x10x32 CD-RW doesn't like to write on certain CD-Rs any more which is concerning me about it. It also doesn't identify CDs that were in the drive for a while... Any ideas on what I should do?
 
Get a 32X burner for $50. 🙂 You might want to make sure the cable is still seated properly, or replace it.
 
Well, if Creative actually made it... it's probably garbage and can be cheaply replaced by a much superior drive. If they didn't make it, try cleaning the laser lens.

Mine did those same things a few years ago, and died!
But it was a 8x CD-RW.
IMO, replace it with a cheap 32x CD-RW like LG, this 32x LG specific can can be updated to 40x.
