Creative Audigy 2 Driver Updated.

Last time I updated my drivers I got tons of BSoD... IRQ conflicts galore. Maybe I'll try this new one and see if it's any better.

I'm USING the most recent driver from Creative.....it's just not right.

The card installs fine, but the computer will not boot to the desktop. It's getting hung up in the moment after the XP splash screen right before the desktop (would) appear.

I can disable the Audigy in Safe mode, then re-enable it in normal mode and all is fine, it just won't start-up if the device is enabled???

Thia is driving me NUTS!!!!

Anyone have THIS expierience or something similar?

I've tried numberous avenues to no avail........

Creative continues to have totally crappy driver support...even 10+ years into the game.

I find it so ironic that i can buy an Audigy2 ZS and it runs fine with the drivers from the CD. BUT, when I apply ANY driver updates from their website, I get BSODs, staticky sound, no sound...you name it. Everything but a smooth running piece of hardware.

It's common sense that your piece of hardware (video card/sound card/network card/motherboard chipset) will run better with the newer drivers. Afterall; newer drivers have the "bugs worked out" etc.

This isn't the case with Creative. My Audigy2 ZS, which is 3+ years old, still runs best with the drivers off the CD that came with it...and who knows how old they are?!

/rant off

The only problems that I have had with their drivers, is on x64...there is no CD for this OS. But even then, the problems were not with them running properly, but with so many features being disabled. On x32, there have been no problems.

i just bought my audigy 2 Zs and installed the driver linked by the OP and have no problems at all running WINXP service pack 2. great sound card
