Creative 1 day sale

Is 84 bucks for a refurb zen 8 gig a good deal? It seemed like the zen got good reviews ... how does it compare to the Zune or Ipod Nano?

I played around with one at Circuit City yesterday, great screen and seems to have a lot of options. These are $150 new there, but it looks like most places they fall in the $120-$130 range. Seems like an awesome deal for $84 tho, even if they are charging tax.

I also recommend. They have an advantage, IMO, over the Zune and iPod lines because of their drag and drop functionality. I ordered a 1GB one jsut now - too good a deal to pass up.

Crono, you mean you got the Zen V 1GB? The newest model, I think just called the "Zen" only comes in 4GB and 8GB.

Comes in 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 Gb capsities. 8 Gb seems about right for me based on my music/video needs. You can also add up to 4 Gb SD cards.

If you just want to listen to music, the Zen V is what you want. I understant that model only plays video clips. The Zen will play encoded motion picture video (movies).

Err, yes, that's what I meant. But what I said applies to msot of Creative's mp3 players.

Looks like a steal, thanks for posting this Section8. I got a Zen V Plus Refurnished 2GB for just $25. Then I also got a Zen V armband, which was also about half off for just $10, so I can use it for running. All together, just $38 bucks including tax and free shipping.

Thank you OP! A 2GB MuVo for $20 shipped is awesome.

Please note that if you go to the MuVo section the 1GB and 2GB are both $19.99, and the 2GB is only available in White/Blue. I almost bought the 1GB Black color because I like the color better, but didn't notice that it would only be 1GB.

What makes the MuVo different or better than the other Zen models? Like wouldn't the Zen V Plus always be a better choice?

MuVo has the USB interface built in, no cable needed. Runs on AAA rather than the Zen proprietary crap. MuVo is cheaper and smaller as well. It's exactly what I need.

Excellent deal, really. I paid $122 for mine and I'm still happy. The SD port makes it a must buy over the POD as far as I'm concerned.

If any new Zen owners want to save a few bucks on the Arm band see my for sale thread. I bought it when I bought the player and never even opened it.

I've had the Zen 16 GB model for several months now and it's awesome. Beats the shit out of my (now broken) iPod in every way. More compact, durable screen, flash memory (less risk of a breakdown), decent software, looks better IMO, has an SD slot. Nothing can really beat the iPod clickwheel, but the zen comes really close. Interface is awesome. Menu-based, but awesome and really easy to use.

Also, lots of options for everything from background color to backlight brightness, plus it has an FM tuner (can't record from it though 🙁 )

Don't have time to write a full review but trust me, it's simply better than anything apple has to offer, especially considering the price (got mine for $200. Standard 30 GB iPod is $250)

Too bad it's FM only - would be nice to be able to listen to the ballgame, too...

Yeah, apparently AM is more taxing on battery power? I would love to have an MP# player that would record AM radio so I could record Coast-2-Coast AM at night.

Yeah, I was dissapointed for no AM either..but I just d/l a bunch of podcasts and listen to them 🙂 my favs are pcgamer and control point (tf2) podcasts. I listen to them while on my motorcycle coming/going to work.
