Creating Slipstreamed Windows XP/SP1 CD, WTF???

I am trying to get windows XP to boot off of a SATA hard drive. I understand that I have to install the SATA driver, but I don't have a floppy drive because they are unreliable pieces of crap. So, this leaves me with a modified version of an XP install CD. I have found numerous websites that detail the process to create a "Slipstreamed" cd that has SP1 installed on it, as well as the SATA drivers.

The only problem I keep running into is that when I copy the files off of the Windows XP Cd I have, the files total up to about ~780 megs, even though the information on the XP CD states that it contains only 530 megs of data, go figure. So how the hell do create a new CD from that stuff because I have looked at at least 20 different tutorials I have found through Google and all of them say just do it, with no mention of this problem.

No, it is a Compaq Windows XP installation cd. It is not a restore CD, but a full installation CD with a full installation of windows on it. I purchased this from a liquidator, with a piece of hardware, and have installed it on my non-compaq machine using my own hardware with no problems at all in the past.

Be careful doing that - it may prevent you from installing Serice Pack 2 when it comes out.
