Creating Home Network...

Just wanted to check which machine I should configure first... last time I tried it wasn't working right... I have a WinXP machine and a Win2k machine... both pro versions.
I want to set up a little web site for my own stuff on my 2k machine using IIS, but I want to be able to upload files like pictures and whatnot without using FTP.

HEy Jeff!😀
If the machine is on the network there, should be a piece of cake to either grab the files with your server, or put it up from your workstation, provided you have shared the right folders.
disable simple filesharing on the xp machine (explorer, tools, folder options, it is at the very bottom of that first page, scroll down to find it), create a common user in each machine with the same password, require login, enable client for microsoft networks and file and printersharing for microsoft networks. The last two you will find under network places, view network connections, right click on the NIC, and select properties. in 2k, i think it will be in control panel, network, but i do not have one here to look at😛
When you log in to a machine, you will log into the other also. All you need to do then is share the folders you wish in xp and 2k.
