Creating Filters with Gmail

For the Gmail users....

I went to settings, I chose Filters and Blocked Addresses and I tried to create a new filter. I pasted the address in the "From" field. I then chose the checkbox for "Apply the label" and I chose a label from the drop-down menu. I cannot get the filter to work though. I have tried separating the email addresses by using comas and semicolons but it does not work. The filter does work if I only add one email address.

There may be a better way to do what I want to do. I would like to label all incoming email from certain senders with a label so I can run a search for all emails that have that label. I can then scan them quickly, keep the few I want and delete the rest. The emails are from vendors who sometimes have things I am interested in but for the most part it is just offers that I do not care about.

Thanks, Bill
