creating directX8 stuff..

Greets dudes n' dudettes

Today there is not alot of directX8 games and stuff, but probably with the Xbox, games will spout out directx8 graphics like never before.

I was wondering if you guys know of any links, and what programs one would use to play with, if one would want to try to create something yourself in 3d to show off you card?

Something which would implement the cutting edge in graphics?

Also anyone know the difference between pixel shader 1.2/1.3 and 1.4 ?? I'm really curious after reading the ATI info on directX8.1 and where my GF3 lacks..
