Creating, deleting folders takes FOREVER

I've got Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop (Lenovo y710, dual-core, 3GB RAM), and several days ago the computer started taking forever (think minutes) to create, rename or delete folders. I can move the folders and browse them just fine, and this doesn't happen with other file types... just folders. I'm at a loss as to what the problem would be caused by... I've checked for viruses and malware, found nothing, and cleaned up the PC with ccleaner, but it hasn't helped.

If you guys have any ideas I'd appreciate it.
