So i'm running Windows Home Premium x64 and trying to create a startup / boot disk for the purpose of updating my bios for my MSI DKA790GX PLATINUM Motherboard.

1. I tried MSI Live update and it does nothing, and comes up with "0 results" when searching for updates
2. I don't have a floppy drive but do have a USB Key and DVD-R drive of course

Any suggestions how to create this startup / boot disk or even update my bios without having to do so?

Basic question - what is not working that indicates a BIOS upgrade is needed?

you can download the win98 dos boot disk from http://www.bootdisk.com/ and use the HP USB DISK Storage format tool available here. could not find the original hp home page.

also they have a link on the same page for the win98 system files there too

thanks guys... got it figured out. i was able to get it updated with liveupdate. They're servers must have been down the day i was trying.

With the new bios you can now update your bios using a usb key right from the bios itself which is awesome, along with a couple of other cool features

thanks again
