Creating an iOS + Android app for my community!

I am thinking about having an iOS iPhone, iPad, and Android app for my community. I have had some requests from users because they think it will be easier to talk to the other members, ask questions and view various content I create.

Does anyone have their own iOS and Android app for their community?

Heh -- that's what I initially posted too and then retracted. Then realized he's talking bout a virtual, online community (I think)

Haha...makes sense when I reread it. Facebook group or Slack. No reason to reinvent the internet unless you are bored and looking for something to do.

I had several points which are important to me.

1 - First I needed my own app with real time chat and private messaging including the ability to send push notifications that can be downloaded from the app stores by my users and seen in mobile (all versions) so I narrowed down the search for chat room app solutions..

2 - I needed a design to include my images, I needed my background to be black or transparent and completely white label with my logo.

3 - I do not like to install the chat in my server as this is high cpu and resource consumer. So I need a complete cloud chat service.

4 - Lastly, I needed the ability to add youtube videos, have users private message me, and have my own app account system.

I have checked several app builders and only 1 met my needs, Chatwing.

I choose Chatwing finally as it has real time messaging built in and can be custom branded as my own app plus can be integrated into my web page.

just tested the chatwing app builder and can confirm the app wizard available makes it straightforward to create an app. nice feature, the app supports Google admob ads so you can display banner ads and make money.

Your community? Like, the area in which you live?

Anyway, if you don't have any experience with mobile development it would be quite the frickin project to make an app (or possibly two of them, for iOS and Android) with those features/requirements. It could be done but unless you're smart and extremely dedicated I would find some sucker to do it for you.

I've never used one of those app builders but it seems like it would still be a lot of work, although a lot more realistic for you. Good luck! I have some Android dev experience; let me know if you have any questions and I can try and answer them.

So, this is basically an social media ad/SEO optimization post for Chatwing. Gotcha.

Oh, and it is an SEO boosting post, I should probably mention that I think that Chatwing is horrible. Chatwing is malware. Chatwing is a virus. Chatwing steals your money, kicks your dog, isn't mobile-optimized, and is run by Satan.

(Google should have fun indexing those keywords and factoring them into your PageRank score) :)

Chatwing gave me diarrhea*

* in case this statement opens me up to some type of libel suit, let me be clear that it didn't in fact give me diarrhea, this is merely a joke

Actually, when you do a search on malware and Chatwing, there are reports of people receiving malware after signing up for the service on some sites.

How about that... my SEO ranting (which may or may not really be true) might have a nugget of truth in it :)
