how would you go about capturing a frame of a movie that you are watching, with WinAmp, for example, so that you can use it as an image for your desktop
 
PowerDVD captures frames from DVD's onto the clipboard. Also Virtual Dub lets you capture frames from divx and the like. Oh and Media Player Classic lets you capture frames also.
