I tried to test out my new burner by creating a VCD with an old Fam Guy episode that I have...it was a *.mpg file and I told Nero to encode it and burn it...didn't fiddle with any options, just gave the disc a label, told it to encode in NTSC and burned it...played fine on my Toshiba standalone DVD player (video and audio) EXCEPT....

it's upside down :(

anyone else run into a problem like this?? help would be most appreciated :)

TIA

yes, not only did it play upside down in the standalone dvd player but also in the IDE dvd player...the 3 mpegs that i burned all play "right side up" :) when opened with windows media player or divx or whatever...

i even see the finished encoded video in nero upside down (after it burns the VCD u can look at a snap shot of the encoded video and its upside down)

TIA

It's something to do with Nero's encoder. What were the specs of your MPEG before you popped it into Nero? Maybe you won't have to let Nero encode it. If it isn't compatible the way it is, get TMPGEnc and reencode it that way. Then just burn with Nero.

upon dragging and dropping my mpeg files into nero's VCD creation option, i noticed 2 mpegs were of type MPEG 1 and the other was an asf file...what nero does is encode all 3 video files and they all were encoded and burned upside down...i tried using TMPGEnc to encode them but didn't try burning it through Nero....

perhaps I will go that route ;)
