Creating a Linux Firewall/Gateway/Internet Sharing.

Ok, I have Redhat 7.2 (gnome) installed on this decent box.

Basically, I want to have it so I can;

A) Share my Dialup internet with it.
B) Monitor incoming packets/attacks - Firewall, basically
C) Control Bandwidth to individual IPs on my network.

I'm not a complete newbie to linux, but I'm am far far from competent. I also know a decent amount about networking, so yeah.

Any guides or some help from my friendly fellow AT'ers?

I believe 7.2 comes w/ipchains installed. remove it and install iptables then go here:

There is nothing wrong with IPchains. Surf to RH site and download the security setup pdf file and read upon ipchains or iptables setup, if the help me isn't already loaded on your RH computer.

if you get really stuck, put ClarkConnect on it instead, it is RH 7.3 based and all the stuff you want to do it automagically setup and/or configurable via web interface

I have ClarkConnect but unfortunately for me it has no Dialup support.

There is also such thing as SmoothWall if you are not keen on setting up RH or built your own LRP that support dialup.
