creating a high quality slideshow/DVD slideshow

I am creating a DVD photo slideshow for a 55th high school reunion. The trial version of ArcSoft DVD SlideShow is meeting most of my needs.

However I would like to bind two seperate photos (a "then" and "Now") into a single frame.

Any suggestions - this does not necessarily have to bee done within ArcSoft is there any general photo processing shareware that would make on jpg file from two seperate images?

and as a followup - any recommendations for public domain music from the '50's that I could use as background?

All help appreciated.

Irfanview and/or Paint.net. I use both, depending on my needs, and both are very good, and free , programs.

Also, Adobe is giving Photoshop CS2 away. Well, at least they provide the files and a license key on their site. But I actually think that Paint.net is better than Photoshop CS2 in many ways.

If you want to combine two JPGs into one, you can do that in MS Paint by copy and paste each into a common new frame. Then and Now is a nice gimmick for reunion photos.
