I need to create a DOS boot disk in order to upgrade the firmware on one of my harddrives. I knew you could make a dos boot disk from windows in 2000 and 98. However, I can't figure out how to do create one in Windows 7.

I googled, and found FreeDos. I downloaded their live disk, but it won't boot up because it insists there's a driver error.

Look at this link .. it should help

Also, I highly suggest not attempting to update hard drive firmware. Usually not needed, but if you do want to do it, be sure to backup everything first.

I'll read through the thread. Thanks.

I'm upgrading the firmware to address a specific issue, so hopefully, it's be alright (my Western Digital RE4-GP's keep timing out in my raid controller)

It is probably looking for an IDE drive.
I have set it as IDE. It's not working either....
