creating a domain for my home network

MrDudeMan

Lifer
i want to be able to access my desktop from any of the other 4 computers in the house. i want full control of it from any computer, but workgroups dont seem to be working.

for example, i need to be able to browse the my documents folder of the administrator on the desktop from any other computer on the network.

they arent using it for an internet connection, so that isnt an issue. i know how to create users and groups, but i cant make it que me for a password when i try to connect from another computer.

any help?

To be able to control Access and security, the computers have to run WinXP Pro (or Win2000).
If running WinXP Pro Simple File Sharing has to be Off.

spunky, im talking about total control, not sharing a single folder or drive. if you share a drive, you dont get access to everything in it.

jack, that is exactly what i needed. thanks a ton!!
