I have never done one and am not sure how to. What do I do?. Basically I have downloaded a zip file from a site which is designed to wipe a hard drive, and am not sure do I extract the files then make a boot disk through nero or just put it on without extraction. Also I downloaded a cdr version of thios program and if anyone could tell me how to create a boot cdr disk that would be great. The link for this software is

http://dban.sourceforge.net/

If anyone could help that would be great. Also will this be easy to do? Do I just reinstall windows like a nromal format afterwards?

It looks like that file comes as an .ISO. That is a file image that will burn to a CD. You will end up with a CD that will have the app and relevant files. In Nero 6 , I just start a new ISO CD project, then go to the "Recorder" menu and then "burn Image". Find the .iso to burn with the file browser, then burn it. If you have Nero 5.x then I think its in the "File" menu, but should work about the same.

And that DBAN program will COMPLETELY WIPE a hard drive. If thats what you want then it should work. If you are having problems with the drive then you wight want to find the drive utility put out by the drive vendor. Their diagnostics will detect any physical problems with the disk and should let you wipe the drive too. Go to the drive manufacturer's web site and look for a drive diagnostic utility.
