Get creatine and also some simple sugar like dextrose for maximum absorption.

First off I wouldn't suggest Ethly creatine in the beginning for a couple of reasons. First off Creatine is a natural substance found in meat, particularly red meat. One of the things important to supplementing with creatine is absorbtion. Taking regular creatine monohydrate with a quick acting carb like grape juice will allow the creatine to enter the muscle via the bloodstream by causing an insulin spike. What many have found is that some people don't absorb regular creatine through the carb conventional methods, thus comes along ethly.

The creatine is processed with ethly, which is an alcohol. The alcohol is what carries the creatine in the muscle and is very effective. But there are two very nasty side effects, one is the horrid taste and even worse ethly is not good for the liver. So for you being a beginner user I would seriously suggest regular creatine and only suggest using the CEE if you have no benefits with regular monohydrate first. I have taken both and have seen no improvement using the cee over the monohydrate.

Happy lifting :)

Exactly. Use pharmaceutical quality dextrose for best results. About 250-300 calories per 10 grams of creatine.

On cycling: I've noticed no long term benefit from cycling verses constant use. Sure, it seems like cycling works because of gains made when you first start a new cycle, but in reality those gains are mostly just making up for what you lose when you stopped the last cycle.

Finally, creatine is effective and far from cheating or for "lazy" people. Molondo, I'll match size, strength and power to you any day. FFactory0x, same to you. Creatine is very effective and far from "BS."

But I would agree with another poster and say it should be held off until you have been working out faithfully for at least 6 months. Creatine will give an advanced body builder that extra little edge, but it's basically useless for the beginner, or someone who constantly missed gym days or starts and stops working out all the time.

Pure ignorant BS. The creatine causes water retention within the muscle, giving it a fuller appearance and extra strength. Any muscle you gain while using it is yours to keep.

You don't need to cycle it, either.

Actually, you're wrong. The effects of creatine diminish. "keeping" your muscles has to do with calories, protein and basic nutrition, not previous creatine usage.

Actually, there are two schools of thought on this.

Yes, of course the vast majority of your gains are dependent on diet and routine. However, the effects of creatine do not, in my experience, diminish. And many people agree with this. IMO, cycling only makes the effects more noticeable by creating short term gains that make up for the losses when you cycle off of it, but does nothing for long term gains.

I used to cycle. Now I'm on it continuously. My long term gains (over one year or longer) have remained the same.

There is no reason to cycle on and off creatine when a simple change in routine will break a plateau.

Creatine has always given me a bit more aerobic endurance and made me a bit more aggressive. Not sure whether research shows the same but my very own independent subjective research has proven it as fact, for me. :)

too paraphrase your sig.."Pro Gamer = id10t"

thank you, please pull up to the next window.

On Creatine, I get swelled. Haven't tried CEE yet...just the cheap monohydrate. My workouts get improved as well. I have A/B'd it as well. Pro-hormones worked the best, but simple creatine wasn't too far behind....I was paying $300+ for those per month. I did get great mass gains from them though.

Once I stop Creatine, I lose a bit of water mass, but the resulting lean body mass is a definite improvement.

What pro hormones where you using? They don't even cost that much now, esspecially since they are banned. PCT shouldn't cost that much either?

this was about 10 years ago...prohormones were more expensive than steroids.

What's PCT?

What's PCT?

Post Cycle Therapy - drugs taken to help restore your natural testosterone production following a cycle of steroids or prohormones.

Oh jesus, Post Cycle Therapy. Well, at least you are still healthy, you were probably using one of those PH's back then that did ******, and thank goodness for it since many under their 20's were taking them since little was known.

So much ignorance in this thread.

Creatine is used in your muscles as "Free Creatine" during anaerobic exercise. As ATP stores are depleted, "Free Creatine" binds with Phosphate groups to create Creatine Phosphate. Creatine Phosphate is then broken down to provide Phosphate groups to ADP to create ATP.

So basically, Creatine replenishes energy stores to allow you to work muscles longer/harder.

Rediculous bullsh1t.

Creatine is BS. The only reason you get a little stronger is because it retains water hence giving you the ability to work out a little longer.

More of the same.

"Water retention" (insofar as Creatine is involved) has fvckall to do with your strength and endurance. What maters are abundant energy sources and your ability to utilize those sources. Creatine is one of those energy sources.

As far as cycling goes. I personally don't think it's necessary, but I do firmly believe that loading is in one's best interest. Studies seem to support loading, with very little mention of cycling. Hell, even my old Exercise Physiology textbook cited research that supported loading.

Glad to see Special K and Amused got in here before me to dispell the BS... so this post is probably too little too late... but whatever, I love talking about this sh1t. :D

Actually Leukic and Gakic hold merit (as does anator, but a simple homemade Leucine/creatine/GI carb post workout supplement can be made for much less). They are expensive, but they do work, as many logs indicate. MT is turning around a bit, but they are still pricey, and full of BS with their marketing etc.

hmm I was mid 20's at the time, and I did a full cycle. I know the the biological game pretty well. In my under 20's I was 190lbs at about 10% BF...5'10.5". Currently I am happy around 175-180 at about 15% like I was 4 years ago or so: http://30moons.com/images/ChrisFlex_Backd_06062002.jpg

For my lack of acronyms....the PH's I did were the same the pro-ball guys were doing. They were more expensive than steroids, but legal.

Now I just hit the gym loaded with oatmeal and whey...some supplements and keep eating most of the day.
