First off thanks to BlueWeasel for the link to the site...

Corporate Modboot is a program that allows you to make a boot disk containing different programs like Partition Magic and Ghost all on the same CD. I had been looking for something like this forever and I've seen a few other people ask about it too. Anyone who works on allot of PC's needs this app. Its very simple to use, it took me less then 20min to create my cd.

Corporate Modboot link..

There was a program on the site called PE Builder which looked very interesting but apparently MS found out about it and "asked" them to delete it. Everyone should check it out too..

*takes a bow* :)

Bart's CD Boot website has been around for a while, but I don't know if many around here know about creating the monster bootdisc.

Since we are on the subject of CD booting, I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer. Currently, I use WinXP and I use a Win98 CD to boot to a DOS prompt. From the prompt, I use a standard floppy to run Ghost.exe to make and restore my partition backups.

My main drive partitions are formated using FAT32, so ghost can see them fine using the Win98 bootCD. However, my 80gb slave drive is formated using NTFS and ghost can't see this drive when using the above method.

I know how to use Nero to create a bootCD with Ghost on it. Unfortunately, all the boot images that have found use a Win98 image and that defeats the purpose. So how do I make a simple, Ghost bootable CD that recognizes NTFS?"

What version of Ghost are you using? I think 2001 was the first version to recognize NTFS. My 2003 will create the boot disk for me which allows me to see any partition.

Yeah, Ghost can natively see NTFS partitions after I believe v6.0. It's explained in Symantec's support pages.

Nice to see way down at the bottom the disclaimer that you need a valid Win98 license to use the tools, since they contain MS property. Kind of pointless though, since he provides you with that software but doesn't provide you with other non-free software.

As for the product itself, I've never had a problem making my own bootable CD's with the software I want on it. I guess the ability to update the software to some degree would be useful if I had a LOT of machines to maintain.

So you've been able to have Ghost, Partition Magic and a Anti V on the same cd before? I have asked for it a couple times on the boards over the years but no one could tell me how. I even had a few tell me its not possible. Thats why I like this program so much..
I do work on allot of PC's. Usually at least 2 new ones a week from different friends, family, neighbors and whatnot. The first thing I always did was make a Ghost Image of there HD so if anything went bad I'd have there data backed up. Then I'd run a virus scan to rule out the obvious. Then whatever else needed to be done.. With this program I now have everything on one cd. Very cool for me. :) Hands down the most useful little program I have seen in a long time..

A windows nt/2000/xp password recovery/changer tool is also quite useful to have on such a cd :)

Well, I am using Ghost v7.0 that I got recently with my Epox Nforce2 board. Unfortunately, it can't see my NTFS partition.

I always thought the problem was not with Ghost, but my boot disc that loads the Windows98 command line. Since I can't see the NTFS partition from the command line, then ghost can't see it either.

Am I right on this assumption?

Edit: The site is back up. I guess the AT affect has worn off.... :)

If anyone can make up a CD image with Ghost, Memtest86, Anti-Virus, Partition Magic, ERD Commander, AMIFlash etc) all on it then that would be brilliant!

If not, then I'll just have to make one up myself! ;)

ERD, PM, & NTFSdos seems to be EXPENSIVE software......

I just create a bootcd using win98 boot floppy (contain dos cd-rom driver) & ghost on it, and then burn the image, it works well for image restore.

The only problem is that win98 dos can't read NTFS unless I buy the 3rd party NTFSDOS software.
