This isn't my auction, but I was just wondering if anyone has tried making one of these.

Link to Ebay aution. Please don't buy it from this guy.

After doing a little research, I found out that you can buy the lens from office depot.

Apollo Full Page Magnifier, 8 1/2" x 11"
Item number: 327016 $6.99 each

I don't really think that something like this will replace a real projector, but it might be fun to play around with. If I do it, then I'll just use cardboard and tape for the box and some 36" paper from the plotter at work for the screen.

you know how bad a 640x400 video looks fullscreen?
Just think if your monitor was 150"

Have you ever seen DVD (720x480) on a nice projection system (100+ inches)?

I would hardly call a ghetto rigged magnifying glass a nice projector

I think he was just pointing that your argument is misleading.

you can build your own projector pretty cheaply but this isn't the method
