Pretend you're starting from scratch with nothing at all, and you want to create the ultimate classic rock collection. What albums do you buy?

Sorry but I think VH 1 should replace VH 1984.

I had to reread that several times before I realized what you were referring to. I was like "WTF is VH1984? Basic cable must really suck now cuz all I have is VH1."

yeah tough call (need eruption), could get the greatest hits album I guess, but for some reason a greatest hits album doesn't flow as well as a studio album. Solution, get them both.

Yep. Greatest Hits for any band is probably the way to go. Gotta have Sweet Home Alabama, some Who, some Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

Led Zeppelin - I-IV + Houses of the Holy
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, The Wall, The Final Cut
Doors - Box Set
Black Sabbath - Paranoid, Masters of Reality
The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
Supertramp - Crime of the Century
Cream - Wheel Of Fire, Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears
Bob Seger - Stranger in Town
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Lady Land, Are You Experienced
The Who - Who Are You?

There are too many others to list but those are off the top of my head

Bad Company - Desolation Angel - 1979
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Green River
Deep Purple - Machine Head
Cheap Trick - At Budokan
Queen - A Night At The Opera
The Allman Brothers Band - Eat a Peach

a crapload more and more and more
