Create image of USB stick with Win8 System Recovery?

New laptops from most manufacturers don't come with a Windows install CD (VERY ANNOYING!!!!!).
Instead they force you to make a recovery USB stick.
What's the best way to create an image file of the USB stick with this win8 system recovery?
Would like to save that image on my server, so I can continue using the USB stick, instead of wasting a $15 device on this crap!

I don't know if this applies for other brands, but on Lenovo laptop with Win8 recovery created on USB stick would not work if you want to replace HDD.
In that case Lenovo offered to buy recovery discs for $59. I bought Lenovo G780 almost a year ago. Replaced HDD, and was left without OS.
Well, I said: "screw lenovo". Bought open box Win8, installed Win8 and returned Win8 disc. I didn't do nothing wrong because I didn't need to use Win8 keys from bought disc - Win8 keys are in bios and while installing Win8, keys are picked from bios.

Would need some confirmation that this also works for other brands as it is not that hard to find Win8 disks on the internet

BTW - [damn] Lenovo, Dell, etc for not longer providing disks.

No profanity in the tech forums, please

Ran into this issue with the wife's new Acer laptop. (HDD to SSD upgrade)

You will need to extract the OEM key AND find what edition is installed, d/l the MSDN or clean Win 8 image, install with a "general" Win 8 key, then re-activate with the legit OEM key.

All using an ISO on USB stick.
