I come here to look at lolcats and hear about hilarious stories or sometimes sad stories.

I don't come here to listen to 5-10 forum members post every anti-police news story that is published across the nation. Or at least use only the news forum for these so we don't crosspost multiple stories...

What happened to the good ol' days, when we used to complain about stuff like the stock market or the price of gasoline?

/rant 😉

I guess it's just the flavor of the month. Maybe next year we will be complaining about the cost of cast iron cookware.

I think stuff like the Zimmerman trial, any incident involving law enforcement, or even local codes/ordinances would be better suited to their own forum.

I feel like when I log onto OT, I have to wear a Guy Fawkes mask and plank on the top of an upside down american flag.

Either P/N or leave it...

Too sub-divided = feels deserted when it's not, which leads to actually deserted.

As long as we have accurate thread titles, I don't find it very hard to stay out of topics that don't interest me. Just saying.

hell no.

splitting out the original OT forum into all of these sub forums is the worst thing that has ever happened to this forum. it was much better back in the day when EVERYTHING was in OT and you could refresh every 5 seconds and have a new front page full of threads.

No. We don't need legal advice from pretend legal experts who think they know everything. If you want a legal advice forum, find one that has people who practice(d) law on a professional level and sign up for it.

I agree with what was said above. Getting legal advice from the internet is already the worst thing you can get. In addition, you're asking for legal advice sub on Anandtech. That's a nightmare.

What they should do is create a subforum for politically-leaning news articles. Or for any kind of news or politics discussions.

We should instead have a forum called "bullshit." A select group of users' posts will default to the "bullshit" forum automatically when they try and post in Off Topic. Other users may see their post be transferred from Off Topic to "bullshit" if the post contains too many key bullshit words.
