'CRC' sticker on music CD?

Anyone know what a small white sticker saying 'CRC' stuck over the UPC code on the back of a music CD means? CD & sticker are shrink wrapped and I'm wondering if it's a promo or from BMG music service or not.

You guessed right, CRC = Columbia Record Club. But I don't think I've ever seen it applied with a sticker, it's usually printed on the packaging.

Sometimes you'll get CD's from CH with no club markings that look like retail copies with the display sticker over the top edge of the jewel case. BMG pretty much marks all of their stuff except box sets.
