CRC Errors with burnt CD's--A little worried....

I am getting a little worried that something is wrong with my CD burner or with how I have my system configured. In the past few weeks I have been noticing that if I burn archive files (large .zip or .ace files), on subsequent extraction from the CD, I started getting all kinds of CRC errors.

For example, I backed up some of my mp3's to a big zip files on CDs. On extracting the file, about every 20 songs or so had CRC errors. And this didn't necessarily happen with all the CD's that I burnt. A few had no CRC errors, and some had more than others. ANd i should add that these zip files extract just fine from my hardisks. It is only when they are burnt to CD that I get the errors

I currently own an AOpen 12x10x32 model burner, always burn at 12x, and typically use Nero 5.5. And I use 16x rated 700MB Memorex CD's.

What I have been considering recently as the source of problems is that possibly my overclocking is affecting my CD burning? I am running an A7V133 with a 1200 Tbird which has the FSB overclocked to 149 MHz (8.5*149=1265). This has been tested stable with multiple days of Prime95 torture test. However, since Prime95 does not test IDE devices, will FSB overclocking affect IDE devices and possibly lead to these errors?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated--thanks!!

Well, I tried messing around with my FSB settings and burnt a a few CD's to see if it would help. And guess what--it did!!

I guess the writer did not like 149 MHz. I am now set at 141 MHz for the FSB and have burnt a few CDs successfully (without any CRC errors and the Nero disk verify came back with no problems).

So that was an easy fix, but losing to higher FSB will be missed a bit.
