CRC Errors w/ drivers that I need

So I'm one of the 1% of America still on dial up. I tried downloading the new Creative drivers 3x leaving my trusty modem on overnite for the download and it didn't work either time (35 meg +). So I had someone here burn them for me and send em over. The nice guy did so, but when I get half way through the install from the disk, I am getting jammed up w/ a CRC error. I instead tried to copy to the HD and go for the install but the same thing happened. I then switched drives and tried both the read/copy and got nowhere either. Is this data corrupt or is there any other hope?

Oddly enough I've never gotten these, but I did get one with a game install about a week ago. 1st time ever. Really don't think it's the drives though. Anyone know enough about this stuff. LMK. thanks

Well, not that that's not a bad idea, but that's not a first step, really is it? I mean this RAM has been working fine in this system for a year and a half. Ram doesn't usually just "go" bad. It's not OC'd or anything. Only thing OC'd is processor and that's only slightly. Wouldn't that lead you to believe something's wrong with the data or drives?
