We have a linksys 802.11b router in one of the rooms in our house, and all the laptops are connected through 802.11g adapters (backwards compatible). And surrounding us are atleast 3-4 other networks b/g and several cordless phones. One of the laptops in the house has an Atheros chipset 802.11g and seems to have crc errors on literally every packet it receves, while at the same time the other laptops are ok. We have tried to switch out the router with another and oddly enough we had the same problem but with one of the other laptops. From my understanding too many devices broadcasting on the same channel (6) will cause strong interference. I've read that the combination of several b and g devices on the same channel/proximity will cause packet corruption - is this the reason why nearly all my received packets have crc errors? What can I do to fix this? (by the way we are not using wep or any security at the moment, but had the same problem with wep earlyer).
