CRC error woes :(

i currently have a 120 gb WD special edition 8mb cache 7200 rpm, and a 80 gb drive. i download bonus packs and such, for UT2003, like the ones that extract, and then run the setup file, i get crc error EVERY time i download it, i've downloaded it 3 times, and there is NO resumeing, it's just straight downloading for 30mins-1 hr, because 64 kbs, now, i know that it MUST be the hard drive or something, but i can't figure out why it's dropping out bits out of my files, because i have some backed up games that are cut into 15 mb files from winrar and they were not corrupt before a today.. and every game that i had backed up is corrupted :*(.. i need to find out what's wrong, i'm running diagnostic tools currently (the long ones).. so i will get results that something is wrong hopefully 🙂, any suggestions of what could be wrong?
 
Tried a new flat 80-wire IDE cable yet? If not, give that a shot. Also, the drive should be at the end connector so there isn't a section of vacant cable beyond it (in theory).
