crc error w/ liteon ltd163

Hi all-

I was wondering if some of you may have had experience w/ a problem that I'm having with my new computer. I just put together the following setup...
Soyo Dragon+
AMD xp 1700+
radeon 8500
Seagate barracuda IV 80G
liteon dvdrom ltd 163
Windows xp pro

Whenever i try to install something off of a cd, i get a crc error telling me that such and such a file does not match up with the file in the setups .cab file. When I tried installing these cd's with my old nec cdrom everything worked without a hitch. Is this a problem w/ the hardware? I've tried looking for updated drivers for the dvd drive but haven't found anything. Any advice would be welcome!

personally my drive works great so given your situation I would try to get it exchanged!
 
seems like its a good drive.. it reads dvd's pretty quietly... but i'm not sure if the crc error is the drive or something else? Seems like only me though. i haven't come across anybody else with this error?
