Crazy Radeon 9800 Pro 3DMark03 Scores?

My system: P4 @ 1.7GHZ, 768MB RDRAM, 40GB Mactor 5T040H4 HDD, ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128MB Ram (256 Bit), Windows 2000 Pro (SP4), using the Omega Driver 2.5.67. The videocard has a 9800Pro PCB but contains a R360 core which i directly confirmed. I have tried overclocking the card with the ATITool and got to 413MHZ core but aborted it because I'm using stock fan. Though the videocard seems capable I do not overclock whatsoever as Im frightened it will die within a year.

After running 3DMark03 (v 3.4.0) at its default settings (1024x768, AA: None, Texture Filtering: Optimal, Max Anisotropy: 2, Vertex Shaders: Optimal) and running all tests by clicking Run 3DMark i received the score: 5279, then i performed a 2nd run and received the score: 5263. During these tests I had nothing running -- no antivirus app, no extra apps loaded on startup. Pretty barebones for these tests.

Now i cant confirm this but I believe that when I first ran this test a week ago, before i removed the heat sink to check the core model #, I thought i received a score in the 6000 to 6500 range. Could this be correct? What is the normal values for a genuine ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128MB Ram (256Bit) AGP videocard within my kind of system? Is the current score of 5263 too low for my videocard?

Again, i do not overclock.

I will soon be installing this videocard into my Athlon XP 2800+ Barton system (with AGP 8x) which has only 512MB DDR Ram and was hoping the card would not only performed well (ie. 6000 score) but would be much improved over my P4 system (with AGP 4x).
