I know from experience that installing the chipset drivers before Service Pack 2 causes plenty of weird problems, not sure if the chipset drivers could be corrupting your hard drive, but you definitely said your friend was having problems with that. You might also want to try loosening the memory timings to see if it solves your problems.

Well, I've tried uninstalling SP2 and it still crashed. I think I've come closer though.

When there is a sound device that is on and is in the computer, WoW crashes. When there is not, it doesn't crash. This is a test over about 5 days.

Blizzard had me send them about a dozen log files.

I would have to say its your video drivers and/or chipset drivers. Install AFTER sp2 as well. Happened to me too.

Os--->sp2--->chipset---->updates---->vid card drivers.

It's stupid that it's come to this. Is nVidia so incompetent that they can't create proper chipsets and drivers?

You've probably tried this but my friend had similar problems with a DFI board that all disapeared when he set the vdimm to 2.8v. Although that was different ram and only 2 sticks.

Well, it's happening on my system too, and it's not a DFI board.

I just reinstalled Windows because my Fajitsu MAU drive came in. I'm installing SP2 now. We'll see what happens.
