4 to 5 oz. is a full serving of meat. The problem is we've grown accustomed to the "bigger is better" attitude. Look around at how many people are overweight. If we only ate this much meat, a reasonable serving of potatoes (not supersize fries) and vegetables along with water or a diet drink of some kind, we wouldn't be so overweight as a nation.

On that note, yes, the serving size is small and very over-priced. I know it is good stuff, but definitely not $212 worth.

This is a good find for those who like Omaha Steaks.

omaha steak stuff is all pretty good... it comes in a heavy duty styrofoam cooler (u almost hate to throw it away) with dry ice...

this is a 'normal' deal for them, can be found on a regular basis... the meat is pricy, but it's consistantly good... my mom is a depression era tightwad, but she buys these deals (and sends me the occasional cooler full) as her splurge... she grew up on a farm hacking up her own cows, and says this is just like 'good old fashion' homestyle cow (she says grocery store beef don't taste like cow)...

well here's the thing. i usually workout, and when i do so, i have HIGH protein, MEDIUM carb, LOW fat diets that are pretty well balanced. i eat 1/2 pound of meat for dinner in addition to my other sides. i try NOT to eat fatty foods, but i eat ample portions of healthier foods, and i am not obese!

I've never seen the movie. What I stated is simply recomended daily portions outlined by the FDA. The fact it was shown in a movie does not mean that guy started some crazy trend.

If you're in the Austin, TX, area, you can get very good cuts of meat from your local butchers. Here is a link to area butchers where you can get good cuts of meat without paying outrageous prices.

OP, believe it or not, I'm not trying to thread crap. The quality of Omaha Steaks is not in question. I'll leave your thread alone now. :)

obesity is caused by cheese, milk and msg laced into food
msg makes food taste real good and people tend to eat more then they need
espeically when their already full and just eat more cause it tastes good!
